Also, Carl's mother's name was Grace Annabelle Hull Jones,  She was a gracious, kind and loving lady. She cooked amazing southern foods and was Carl's inspiration for becoming a chef.

In the 80s, Carl owned and operated two Western Sizzlin franchises in Jackson Tennessee. He was named "Tennessee's Restaurateur of the Year," Jackson's "Young Man of the Year," "Tennessee's Outstanding Young Man."  He was also named as Western Sizzlin's "Franchisee of the Year."


In the 90s, Carl was vice president of operations for national steakhouse chain, Western Sizzlin Steak House.  He was also involved in the start up of Logan's Roadhouse and created recipes used in the O'Charley's chain, and other restaurant chains that cannot be disclosed due to confidentiality agreements.

In his spare time, Carl is a food artist, professional background singer and avid tennis player.  He and his wife, Angel, live in Jackson TN.  They’ve raised four children, and have a beautiful baby granddaughter.

What is a food artist?  A food artist is someone who creates works of art using food as the medium.  Carl travels throughout the US creating stunning centerpieces using hand carved fruit and vegetables.


Carl Jones is world renowned for his works of art, receiving praise and
accolades from the master carvers in Thailand.


​He created a fabulous fruit centerpiece for the Ivanka Trump wedding in October, 2009, where he was hired as a consultant to assist with the
​planning and catering of the wedding.

Carl is a mentor to top chefs, caterers and restaurants across the country.  He founded the "Catersource Forum, " one of the first online discussion boards for professional caterers.  Carl served on the advisory board for Catersource and was a senior consultant in the Catersource Consulting Unit.  Carl was a writer for Catersource Magazine for several years.
